Albert J. Perez, Esq. (born in 1978) is
a Cuban-American lawyer who is the
principal of The Law of Offices
of Albert J. Perez, P.A.
Before founding The Law Offices
of Albert J. Perez, P.A., Perez
earned his bachelor’s degree from St.
Thomas University in 2001 and later went
on to receive his Juris Doctorate from
Nova Southeastern University Shepard
Broad Law Center. While in law school,
Perez served as an active member of the
rigorous and distinct Nova Law Review.
In 2003, Perez authored an article
titled, Wet Foot, Dry Foot, No Foot: The
Recurring Controversy Between Cubans,
Haitians, and the United States
Immigration Policy, 28 Nova L. Rev. 437,
443 (2003). Since publication in
2003, Perez’s article has been
cited in various secondary legal
sources. |

Upon graduating from law school in 2004,
Perez was hired as an associate at
Demahy Labrador Drake Payne & Cabeza,
P.A. in Coral Gables Florida, where he
practiced in the areas of Professional
Liability, General Liability,
Catastrophic Claims, Class Action
Litigation Defense, and Assisted Living
Facilities and Nursing Home Defense.
Shortly thereafter, Perez was named Head
Counsel of CASA, a non-profit agency
focused on immigrant advocacy and
representation. As Head Counsel, Perez
was responsible for the agency’s Legal
Department. Perez represented hundreds
of clients before the United States
Citizenship and Immigration Services,
Miami Immigration Court and the Board of
Immigration Appeals. As Head Counsel,
Perez strived to make the agency a
leading advocate against Domestic
Violence. In doing so, he represented
hundreds of abused immigrants and
successfully obtained legal permanent
residency for many abused women,
children, and men.
In 2007, during Perez’s tenure, the
agency received the Governor's Points of
Light Award an award presented to
Florida residents and organizations that
demonstrate exemplary volunteer service
to their community. Subsequently, after
serving as CASA’s Head Counsel for a
term of two years, Perez founded
The Law Offices of Albert J. Perez, P.A.
The firm focuses in the areas of
Immigration Law, Family Law, and
Business Law.
Perez is admitted to practice in the
State of Florida, the United States
Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit,
the Executive Office for Immigration
Review, the Board of Immigration
Appeals, the United States Citizenship
and Immigration Service, the Department
of Labor and all Immigration Courts
throughout the United States and Puerto
Rico. Additionally, he is a member of
the American Immigration Lawyers
Association (AILA). |
